Go live and post launch

When you've finished reviewing each page on your site, and you've completed any internal content governance and approval processes, your Fresco site can be published.

To do this, you need to confirm the following with the Migration Team:

  • You're happy for your Fresco site to go live, and that you're ready to deactivate your Mosaic site.
  • You have checked if you share any content with any other Mosaic sites. If your site is sharing content to other pages, this content will disappear when your Mosaic site is deactivated.
  • Specify a Fresco go-live date.

Switchover timeframe

Fresco go-lives/switchovers are done once a week, usually on a Wednesday. However, you can nominate a specific week if you'd prefer - please contact the Migration Team (mosaicmigrationsupport@it.ox.ac.uk).

During the switchover, the Migration Team will check that your Fresco site is working properly and then notify you when it's complete.

After switchover

Once your Fresco site is live, you'll need to toggle on ‘enable SEO Allow search engines to index the site’, and save the configuration. This means your site can be found on search engines, like Google.

To do this: Access your site's Administer Settings, and then under System click on Site launch. From this page you can toggle on and off SEO and Site access settings.

After switchover, visitors to your old Mosaic site will be automatically be redirected to your new Fresco site. This is automatic redirect is temporary for approximately 4 months, and after this point your old Mosaic site won't be accessible.

If you wish, you can also delete the Migration Team's access to this site at this point.
